This is the lovely moment a saved dog can’t hold back his excitement when he realizes he will have his own bed. But his response comes as no surprise as the innocent canine has been kept in chains since he was a puppy!

Stevie was found in a terrible state by animal control volunteers of the Lancaster Region Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). His eyes were completely dry and powerless, as he was chained and partially blind. And yet, there was always hope with devoted pet lovers!

“He spent most of the journey, but could definitely start grumbling and also barking every so often in his pet cage,” Erin shared with The Dodo. “We knew he was just protecting himself. When we got home, we transported the cage inside, and he could not come out. We were extra cautious, knowing he might not see us and not knowing him yet.”

It is a definitely natural behavior for a pet that was forced to oversleep in the rain and cold for his entire life. Yet, he quickly began to recover and to look more healthy and happier than ever before. However, the most excited moment was when the foster family decided to surprise him with an all brand-new bed– something Stevie had never possessed!

“He sleeps a lot, but loves to snuggle, go for walks, chew on squeaky pressed things, and give kisses,” Stevie’s foster mommy said. “He’s so clever. He leaps, will sometimes eat on a pressed thing a little bit, and then loses consciousness.”

Stevie surprised everyone with his response after getting his own bed, also Erin thought he could be overjoyed. He can’t believe he’s getting the chance to sleep on a soft bed after an extremely tough life. His reaction is pure joy.
